Automated Test Results in TestComplete
TestComplete generates detailed, tree-like logs of all actions performed during automated testing to help testers perform deep analysis of automated test results. Logs can be viewed directly in TestComplete, or can be exported to HTML, XML or MHT for viewing in an Internet browser on machines that do not have TestComplete installed. A double-click on a log entry brings you to the corresponding automated test operation, which allows you to quickly detect and fix errors.
TestComplete’s automated test logs allow you to:
- Add custom contents to logs and color-code it for better visual analysis.
- Filter out log messages by their text, type, priority, time and other attributes.
- Review log summaries from one automated test run to another.
- Print preview and print logs.
- E-mail automated test logs to your colleagues.
- Post automated test log data to issue-tracking databases like Microsoft Visual Studio Team System or Bugzilla.
- Export log data to files.
- Compress logs using ZIP, RAR, ARJ32 or any other archive utility of your choice.
- Access the automated test log contents from automated test scripts.
