TestExecute allows you to execute scripts written with TestComplete and log test results on machines that do not have TestComplete installed - using a simple, resource friendly command-line utility. TestExecute gives QA departments the ability to test applications in real life user environments - such as at customer sites - without the need to install TestComplete on the target machine.
How it Works
TestExecute is built upon TestComplete technology and supports all TestComplete objects (Log, Sys, Regions, Options, Win32 Objects, etc). It uses the same object model as TestComplete, supports Open and Connected applications, and can use TestComplete plug-ins (.pls) to work with databases using BDE or ADO commands or run Win32 API functions from scripts. Like TestComplete, TestExecute stores its results in XML and HTML files.
TestExecute can launch TestComplete Connected Applications and supply them with the required OLE engine services. Connected Applications require TestComplete libraries at compile time, and can be written in C++, Delphi or Visual Basic. TestExecute, like TestComplete itself, supports external scripts written in any of the three OLE-based scripting languages: VBScript, JScript, DelphiScript, C++Script or C#Script.
Since TestExecute can be distributed to end-users (both within and outside your organization), AutomatedQA offers a number of different pricing options for redistribution. They include a corporate licensing option, allowing you to distribute an unlimited number of copies of TestExecute.
