If you know how to create charts in Microsoft Excel, then you know how to use our charting control. It’s that easy. Navigate to any data source, choose the table, and instantly obtain stunning charts with professionally designed styles. Customize the appearance further with the easy-to-use On-Board Designer or allow your users to personalize their charts (so you don’t have to).

  • Easiest Way to Chart Data in SharePoint

Just open the On-Board Designer, point to a data source, select your data, configure the view and you are done. Gone is the need for Excel, SharePoint Designer, and difficult code. You don't even need to use the page's edit mode. We challenge you to find an easier way to display charts.

Easiest Way to Chart Data in SharePoint
  • Instantly Connect to Virtually Any Data Source

Use the On-Board Designer to point to SharePoint lists (even on other sites), SQL Server, Oracle, and Excel (you don't need MOSS) and select the data you want to chart. You don't need SharePoint's BDC, there is no code required, and you don't have to use Excel as a data viewer.

  • Aggregate and Summarize Data

Performs calculations such as average, sum, and count on your data to show useful summary charts. You don’t need to set up calculations in the source data, just chose the column you would like to group by then select the appropriate calculation. For example, show a summary of territory sales by grouping individual sales people’s numbers by their associated territory.

  • All The Chart Types You Need

With 30 chart types, such as bar, column, area, scatter, line, and pie, you will have all the tools you need to produce any data view. A convenient preview thumbnail helps you decide which chart to use.

  • Connect Web Parts for Rich Interaction

Connect ComponentOne WebParts to one another or SharePoint Web Parts to your ComponentOne Web Parts. This level of interactivity will ensure that you are always showing meaningful data.

  • Coding Optional

The On-Board Designers make creating and configuring ComponentOne Web Parts a simple matter of pointing-and-clicking. But, if you need to go beyond the designer options, feel free to use code to customize the Web Parts even further. Ease of use and extensibility go very well together.

  • Real ROI

In just a few minutes, insert the ComponentOne Chart Web Part onto your page, connect it to your data, and configure your view. Changing the view is just as easy. In a few minutes you get a chart that would normally take developers weeks to code (or require MOSS and Excel). The Chart will pay for itself the first time you use it on a typical project.

How We Make the SharePoint Experience Better

SharePoint does not provide tools for creating charts. If you want to create charts out of the box, you have two options: (1) create the charts in Excel and use Excel Web Services to display them or (2) code a chart in SharePoint Designer or Visual Studio. Either way, the process is time consuming and must be repeated any time a chart needs to be updated. When you need to connect to outside data sources, such as SQL Server and Oracle, the complexity is multiplied. The ComponentOne Chart for SharePoint eliminates your pain by giving you point-and-click chart creation right out of the box, without the need for a developer or artist.

ComponentOne Web Parts SharePoint
Point-and-click configuration, connection, and design through the On-Board Designer. Connection and configuration can require code, complicated tools, and time consuming processes.
Connect directly to any data source (lists, SQL Server, Oracle, Excel). Need to set up connections through Excel, SharePoint Designer, or BDC.
Create and change the chart on the SharePoint page. Need to change the chart in Excel or in code, depending on how the chart was originally created.
Choose from a collection of themes and palettes to apply professional polish. Visual design needs to be performed manually in the tool originally used to create the chart.
Allow end-users to create their own charts. Not possible. Typically, users need to request charts.
