Fast Barcode Detection
LEADTOOLS barcode recognition is very fast; it outperforms most hardware-supported barcode read products. This software engine permits fast document scanners to maintain full speed while performing barcode recognition operations on the fly for document-indexing purposes.
Barcodes are located and reported back in as little as .025 seconds (Letter 8.5x11"@300DPI, P-133, 32MB). Multiple barcodes in a single page are reported back in approximately .1 seconds. Barcode type detection is automatic and reading is independent of orientation and skew.
Developers have the ability to provide optional configuration settings affecting the detection speed, including number of barcodes expected, barcode orientation, and potential location of barcodes. This flexibility in search parameters can improve the speed of barcode detection.
