Windows Driver Model (WDM)
WDM is a driver model that is common to Windows 98 and Windows 2000 that is based on the Windows NT driver model. The main difference between WDM and the orginal model is the addition of Plug and Play support. Many multimedia device types including some of the newer device types such as USB and 1394 (Firewire) devices rely on WDM drivers.
