Multimedia Playback
The LEADTOOLS Multimedia product line has everything you need to build a powerful multimedia playback application.
LEADTOOLS Multimedia Playback functionality includes:
- Ability to play all formats supported by DirectShow.
- Play streaming music and video from memory.
- Support for zooming the video during playback. Options include Fit to window, stretch, 50%, 75%, 100%, 200%, and full screen video options.
- Control the playback speed (2x, 3x, 4x, 1/2x, 1/3x, 1/4x).
- Support for playing DVD’s and DVD navigation.
- Support for any DirectShow video and DirectShow audio processing filters.
- Capture and save still bitmaps from the video stream with control over format and quality. Images can be saved to file or memory.
- Ability to choose the exact frame from where the still images are captured.
- Ability to use a preferred MPEG2 splitter when playing MPEG2 files.
- Select devices for playback. For example, select the sound card, if multiple sound cards are installed, to playback audio.
- Save player settings to files and streams. These settings can include the selected processors, flags, and controls.
- Time-based, frame-based or synchronized with a track bar positioning.
- Mark the start point and end point to play.
- Set infinite loop or a repeat count.
- Get content and tag information such as author, copyright, etc.
- Read and seek DV timecode data.
A few example applications that can take advantage of this functionality:
- Create Windows Media Player type applications capable of playing many formats such as AVI, MPEG-2, MPEG-1, ISO (MP4, 3GPP, AAC, AVC1, MOV), XVID, ASF, WMV , WAV, WMA, OGG, and more.
- Create YouTube type applications that can play streaming audio and video content.
- Create NetMeeting type video conferencing and text messaging applications.
- Display and annotate (markup) video files for presentation purposes.
- Create DVD player / navigation software.
- Create player software for music from a streaming audio hosting service.
- Create a player for video being streamed from UAVs through a UDP port.
