LEADTOOLS Version 16 revamps our raster imaging SDK product line. It introduces an entry-level raster SDK, and streamlines our flagship Document and Medical SDKs to give you simplified purchase options:
- LEADTOOLS Imaging re-introduces our popular, time-tested ActiveX (OCX) raster imaging programming interface, including TWAIN, Windows Common Dialog, and WPF support.
- LEADTOOLS Imaging Pro is packed with new features for .NET, C DLL, and C++ Class Library programming interfaces. It includes WPF support with new transition effects, and introduces a JPIP add-on module.
- LEADTOOLS Document Imaging introduces WPF annotations and a la cart add-on options for comprehensive recognition and processing of Forms (new!), 1D Barcodes, 2D Barcodes (all in one package!) and OCR / MICR /ICR /OMR with multiple engine options!
- LEADTOOLS Medical Imaging is updated to the latest DICOM standard, with enhanced medical image viewer controls and powerful add-on modules for DICOM PACS, a comprehensive WCF Web Viewer framework, and medical multimedia support.

Standard .NET is now included with all LEADTOOLS
non-multimedia imaging SDKs. It includes:
- Windows Imaging Component (WIC) Codecs. Instantly add support for 40+ file formats to any WIC/WPF application, including the Windows XP SP3 Explorer and Vista Photo Explorer.
- Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) BItmapSource viewes to add interactive image display and tools to any WPF XAML-based application.

New in V16: LEADTOOLS Imaging SDK:
Provides ActiveX (OCX) support for adding to any application the ability to display, load, save, convert or process images. Gives developers the ability to interact creatively with front-end designers, create extremely small footprint applications, obtain low-level access to pixel data, create custom image processing filters, exert full control over load/process/save functions, share images (without copying) via DIBs/DDBs, and exert full control over all display options.
COM objects provide TWAIN device support with Windows Common Dialog boxes that incorporate LEADTOOLS Imaging functionality.
- Return of the time-tested and robust ActiveX programming interface. Allows you to display and manipulate image lists and incorporate image compression, file format support, and image processing functionality into your applications.
- TWAIN object gives you TWAIN scanner control, including TWAIN resource management, page acquisition, and TWAIN device handling (such as scanners, barcode readers, and digital cameras).
- Common Dialogs object gives you reusable imaging common dialogs for the most common LEADTOOLS imaging functions and effects.
- ABC Read is in all products.
- ABC Write is in Document and Medical SDKs.

LEADTOOLS Imaging Pro V16 is the core follow-on to LEADTOOLS Raster Imaging Pro v15 for .NET (including WPF, AJAX, and COM Interoperability), C DLL, and C++ Class Library programming interfaces.
- WIA Scanning Support provides a powerful set of functions with in-depth support for image acquisition from a wide variety of hardware devices.
- GIF Animation in .NET. Display and animate graphics from any image file format supported by LEADTOOLS.
- Help 2.0 for C DLL and C++ Class Library provides full LEADTOOLS help integration with Visual Studio.
New Add Ons to Imaging Pro:
- LEADTOOLS JPIP Module includes JPIP Server, Client and Viewer components for viewing large, high-resolution images with minimal network bandwidth requirements. Ideal for sattelite and medical image applications.

- New WPF annotations provide a means to mark up images with over 20 different objects including sticky notes, redaction, pointers, hotspots, hyperlinks and text.
- New Auto Binarize image processing function automatically coverts a colored image to bitonal (black-and-white) while preserving important image features such as text.
- New enhanced Deskew with drastic improvement in the accuracy, without affecting the speed by making pre-processing faster and new Selective detection algorithms that increase Deskew accuracy for scanned documents.

LEADTOOLS Dicom PACS
Module: Everything you need to create both client and
server components of a picture archive and retrieval system (PACS) that
can retrieve, distribute, and present medical images. Includes full
support for:
- Medical data communications, automated processing, and all DICOM client/server classes, command sets, and command elements.
- Secure transport connection profiles with authentication, whether encrypted or unencrypted.
- All storage IOD classes and service classes defined in the DICOM version 3 2008 base standard.
