Novell ZENworks Configuration Management (ZCM) fully
supports Windows XP, Windows Vista and now Windows 7. It
uses 'Windows Installer' as a preferred packaging
technology. For 'Software Packaging' Novell includes
Flexera's 'AdminStudio Standard Edition' which can be used
to repackage applications but also create your own packages
from scratch. PDS has been giving training to ZENworks
administrators on using AdminStudio and Windows Installer
technology since Novell started shipping AdminStudio with
ZENworks as 'Software Packaging' solution about five years
ago. Industry top trainers will guide you through this
course making it both an enjoyable AND highly educational
experience. The instructors will let you benefit from their
ten+ years expertise with Novell ZENworks, Software
Packaging and Software Deployment.
In a 4-day course they will provide you a hands-on
environment in which you will gain the knowledge on Windows
Installer technology, skills needed to repackage traditional
setups into MSIs, rapidly customize them using AdminStudio
and distribute these using ZCM. The first 2 days will be
covering all the Windows Installer basics and fundamentals
of packaging with AdminStudio. The last 2 days you will
learn the ZENworks consequences for your packaging
environment. You will be learned about all the best
practices on creating Windows Bundles and providing a
managed application interface to your end users, both on
Windows XP as well as Windows 7. The ZENworks expertise will
be provided by our partner @
MSIWisdom where PDS co-designed this course with.
