AOK Convert-It works in
conjunction with Test-It.
Convert-It can read any folder containing an installed application, extract all its files, registry settings and COM information into the AOK database and produce a base MSI This unique utility saves considerable time and allows for compatibility reporting where the installation media is lost or unavailable. It also allows businesses stuck on legacy systems to extract and migrate applications to new platforms. We have developed an entirely unique,
automated installed application
extraction utility. This utility allows
users to point at any folders containing
applications and it will import all the
files, registry settings, shortcuts and
other associated items into the AOK
database. From there it is possible to
generate a standard MSI. Once the
application has been extracted and in
the AOK database it can make use of the
rest of the AOK testing functionality.
AOK Convert-It solves the problem of migrating legacy applications with lost media to a new platform by providing packagers with a raw MSI.
