appropriate, remove these and all their
dependencies or isolate them as
necessary.
Operating Systems (Windows 7,
Vista, Server 2008, 64-bit)
Thousands of checks need to be made when
deploying applications to a new
platform. For example:
- Custom action security settings
and Control panel applet settings
- Checking for, and remediation
of, illegal installation settings
(E.G. Legacy help files)
- Removing unwanted
redistributable code
By adjusting these settings,
inserting the appropriate manifest files
or altering privileges AOK Fix-It can
automate the task of getting these
applications to deploy on the target
platform.
Middleware and Missing
Dependencies
AOK Fix-It has a unique facility for
assessing middleware dependency and
remediating any issues. Users can create
bespoke reports. For example, creating a
set of middleware reports for individual
environments requires users to simply
load applications into the Fix-It
middleware report section. Other reports
can then be systematically run against
the middleware reports to identify if
they:
- Have a dependency on the
applications
- Contain any middleware fragments
that should ideally be removed.
Fix-It offers the option to remove
fragments so that they will not
interfere with the base middleware layer
or other applications dependent on it.
Conflict Management
AOK delivers a fast and pragmatic
approach with the automated resolution
of inter-application conflicts.
Benchmarked on industry best practices,
it is designed to model clients' core
build, including core applications and
middleware. Fix-It automatically
remediates conflicts between the "core"
and the rest of the applications
appropriately choosing side-by-side
isolation technology, guid syncing or
removal duplicate items. It is entirely
possible to conflict-manage the entire
portfolio.
ICE
Microsoft's Internal Consistency
Evaluators raise information, warnings
and errors against the configuration of
an MSI. Fix-It identifies and
automatically remediates the MSI so that
the most important ICE errors are
removed. This ensures the MSI installs
and functions correctly.
