MadCap Capture lets you easily capture anything that displays on your computer screen as an editable image. This product was designed specifically with the documentation specialist in mind. With Capture, it's just three steps to the perfect image:

1. Capture – Capture any part of your screen as an image, including the full
screen, the active window, or a customized region.

2. Edit – Modify the image as needed, including cropping and resizing, as
well as adding callouts, text, and effects.

3. Save – Save the image as the appropriate file type, and easily
incorporate it into a Flare Help project.

Features Include:

Unicode Support
Capture offers full unicode support for all left-to-right languages, a unique feature for a graphics editing application, and especially useful for translating image text into a myriad of languages.

Adjustable Capture Region
Capture lets you choose to capture the full screen, a specific application window, or any region on your screen.

Adjustable Image Scale
Resize the captured image by adjusting the scale.

Editable Layers
Capture supports image layers, which means that shapes, arrows, text, and other added elements are not automatically merged into the image when you save it. You can easily adjust or remove these items as needed after the capture is complete.

Menu Capture
You can capture menus, including cascading menus – both individually and in context with the whole image.

Special Effects
Emphasize a specific area of an image by applying a blur, shading, gray scale, or zoom effect.

Palettes
Create and design various types of objects (such as callouts, shapes, and lines). Then use a palette to store those objects for later use.

Seamless Integration with Flare
Although Capture is a great tool for many purposes, it was especially designed for use with MadCap Flare to create professional Help systems. It’s very easy to launch Capture from within Flare and to quickly incorporate your finished image into a Flare project.

Shared Libraries
Visual component libraries are shared with MadCap Mimic ensuring look and feel consistency between various media content

Spell Check
Capture now has a built in Spell Check library ensuring spelling accuracy on any text callouts, titles or labels you apply to your captured images.

Variables
Capture can now leverage the power of Variables in text areas. These variables can then be used to further enhance image single sourcing. When a Capture image is used in a MadCap Flare project then MadCap Flare is able to control Flare Variables and Capture Variables from a single interface providing the ultimate in single-sourcing.

Flexible Interface
Capture’s user interface is unique in that it is comprised of individual panes that you can move around as you like and “dock” to different areas of your workspace. This lets you work the way that you feel most comfortable. You can even have multiple image files open in the interface simultaneously, allowing you to quickly move from one to another.

Image Single-Sourcing
Multi-purpose image output, which enables users to produce a single-source graphics file that serves the needs of many diverse objectives, such as printed manuals, brochures, websites, intranets, video tutorials, and more.

Resize Automatically
Size settings can be specified before you capture, so the image is resized automatically when the capture is complete.

Set Resolution Automatically
Resolution settings can be specified before you capture, so the image resolution is set automatically when the capture is complete.

Set Color Depth Automatically
Color depth can be specified before you capture, so it is set automatically when the capture is complete.

Crop to Standard Size Automatically
Cropping size can be specified before you capture, so the cropping is done automatically when the capture is complete.
